Wildebeest Migration

The wildebeest migration is often considered one of the longest and largest land migrations in the world. The migration involves an estimated 1.5 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and other ungulates like gazelles and elands. The migration follows a circular route between Tanzania's Serengeti National Park and Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve, covering a distance of around 800 kilometres (500 miles). The migration is driven by the search for food, water, and favourable breeding conditions.

The term "Big Five" was originally coined by big-game hunters during the colonial era in Africa. These hunters referred to the five most challenging and dangerous animals to hunt on foot which are the African elephant, African lion, African leopard, African buffalo, and African rhinoceros. These animals were considered the most prized trophies due to their size, strength, and the difficulty of hunting them. The Africa Big Five animals are iconic symbols of the continent's rich and diverse wildlife heritage. These animals stand as a symbol of Africa's untamed wilderness, embodying the spirit of adventure and exploration
